Topsail Re, a reinsurer based in the Cayman Islands, has appointed Daniel Turgel as its Vice President of Underwriting his responsibilities will include underwriting, marketing, and account management.
Daniel earned his MBA in Insurance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and Bachelor of Arts in Chinese from The Ohio State University and holds the CPCU designation from The Institutes.
He has 13 years of experience in reinsurance underwriting and program management and most recently was VP of Insurance Program Operations at RVI. Daniel previously worked at Arch Re for six years as a reinsurance underwriting director specializing in property, workers’ compensation, and other lines of business in both the facultative and treaty divisions.
He has also held positions with Firemans Fund Insurance Company, MindHome, Smartinsure, ReSource Pro, and InsurTech Denver.
