Alliant sets up Alliant Re and appoints Ambriano as Managing Director.

Nicholas Ambriano has been appointed executive vice president and managing director to lead its new division, Alliant Re, a freshly established reinsurance brokerage company of Alliant Insurance Services.

In order to navigate market conditions and offer tailored risk transfer solutions to protect insurers from losses, Alliant Re will draw on its own data and analytics, ties with other businesses, and insurance expertise.

To maintain long-term profitability and ongoing policyholder servicing, the new division will assist insurers in increasing their capacity for underwriting while controlling risk exposure. Solutions for reinsurance include programs, deductible buy-downs, captives, facultative insurance, and individual risk placements.

Ambriano will be based in New York and his new position will require him to play a significant part in developing a client-focused reinsurance operation and a team of reinsurance specialists to provide the market with best-in-class resources and client services. He joins Alliant Re from Aon.

Overall, he brings over 20 years of experience from working within the reinsurance industry, to the role. In his most recent roles, he oversaw national facultative reinsurance operations for a leading global broker, where he showed proven success in managing major facultative reinsurance operations, executive recruiting, and handling a book of complex casualty accounts.

Commenting on his new role, Ambriano said: “My focus is on attracting reinsurance professionals to Alliant Re, where we can elevate our level of professionalism and better serve clients in an unencumbered environment.”
