Chubb Appoints Mark Homan to Lead Global Property and Casualty Division
Chubb announced today that Mark Homan has been named Division President, International Property and Casualty, for Overseas General Insurance, the firm’s international general insurance business. This is effective on June 1. He is currently the division’s chief operating officer.
Timothy O’Donnell, who has worked for Chubb for 20 years, is succeeded by Homan. Homan will answer Juan Luis Ortega, Executive Vice President of Chubb Group and President of Overseas General Insurance.
He graduated from Middlesex University with an Honours Degree in European Business Administration. He also holds a Diploma Betriebswirt from the Fachhochschule Reutlingen in Germany, where the Robert Bosch GmbH financed his thesis.
The company’s international commercial property and casualty (P&C) insurance business, including the property, casualty, professional lines, energy, and marine product lines, will fall under Homan’s purview in his new position.
Homan has worked in the insurance industry for thirty years. He was the division’s Executive Vice President, International Casualty, before taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Chubb in 2011, Homan held executive positions in Europe and the United States, including at Allianz, AIG, and Wüba, where he served as a board member. Homan started his insurance career in 1993.
At Chubb, Timothy O’Donnell has achieved considerable success, most notably spearheading the P&C division’s significant growth and steadily increasing profits. Timothy has served as the director of both North American Professional Lines and our global Financial Lines division during his time, said Ortega. He has contributed significantly to the development and promotion of talent all around the world and has been a dependable collaborator. We commend Timothy on a remarkable career in international insurance and wish him the best in this new phase of his life.
Mark has extensive international experience, according to Ortega, an experienced underwriter. He has effectively led our casualty business for the past 12 years, contributing to growth that has made us the market leader in one of our largest international P&C businesses. From casualty to other P&C lines, Mark has constantly shown how to manage and grow our business with consideration and efficiency.
