Verisk appoints new senior leaders for PCS

Ted Gregory and Alex Mican have been appointed as new leaders of Verisk’s PCS business segment. Mican and Gregory are both market veterans with decades of expertise at Verisk.

During this time, they also spearheaded many of PCS’ important breakthroughs, from disaster loss reporting for Japan to speciality line reporting and the creation of the industry’s first cyber insurance platform.

Gregory will be in charge of global PCS operations. His responsibilities include providing overall direction for PCS’ property catastrophe and worldwide loss reporting processes. Gregory joined PCS as an operations manager in 2013 and has been crucial in expanding PCS property-catastrophe services to new markets, particularly Mexico and the Asia-Pacific area.

Alex Mican will take over as PCS’s Head of Global Strategy and Growth. His duties include overseeing all client-facing activities, developing new products and markets, and serving as the key point of contact for reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS) transactions.

Mican began his career at Verisk in 2014 as a Sales Development Analyst before moving to PCS in 2016 to lead the development of new global speciality products, most recently at PCS Global Aviation.

Both changes come in the wake of the resignation of Tom Johansmeyer, Senior Vice President and Head of PCS, who rejoined the reinsurance industry by joining Inver Re. With the switch to broker Inver Re, Johansmeyer becomes the first PCS leader to enter the market.

I have admired PCS since my early days at Verisk, and it has been a privilege to support the team’s continued growth,” said Aaron Brunko, President of Verisk Property Estimating Solutions. Alex and Ted are great leaders and innovators, and I am excited to assist them in achieving long-term and significant success in this new chapter for PCS.
