DWF substantially broadens its insurance options in Dubai

Bill Evans and Victoria Clucas have been appointed to serve as insurance partners at DWF, a company that offers integrated legal and commercial services.

Clucas and Evans will both move to DWF’s Dubai branch from the London legal firm Kennedys. The hires, according to DWF, would strengthen its Middle Eastern insurance team.

Clucas and Evans will work alongside insurance partner Brian Boahene who has over 16 years of experience working in the region. DWF has a full-service insurance team in the Middle East. This allows for a seamless service to be provided to insurance clients throughout the GCC.

In the Middle East and Africa, Europe, and the UK, Victoria has more than 13 years of experience assisting Insurers and Reinsurers on complicated and big loss Property, Energy, and Construction claims and coverage disputes.  Prior to moving to the Middle East in 2020, Victoria spent the first ten years of her career working in the center of the London Insurance Market. She has lived in the area for less than three years, and Chambers and Partners just recognized her as a “Up and Coming” insurance partner in the Middle East.

Evans began working as an attorney for Kennedys in 2008 after spending 12 years in the London market. He has split his time between Dubai and London since the year 2020. In the UK, EMEA, and APAC, Evans specializes in managing high-value property, energy, and construction claims.

Victoria expressed her excitement about joining DWF at a time when the company is making significant investments in building a client-focused, high-performing global insurance team. For the future of our business, it is crucial to invest in the Middle East, which is a major hub for insurance. Given that the company has such a strong focus on putting the needs of its clients first, I also see obvious similarities between DWF’s principles and mine. Being a part of a company with clear and attainable global ambitions, where teamwork is essential and employee growth and mentoring are at the core of the operation, is thrilling.

“I am thrilled to join the DWF team,” Evans continues, “and look forward to working with Victoria, Brian, and our team in the global London market to build the international practice with a focus on the MENA and the GCC regions.”
