As general counsel, corporate secretary, and chief compliance officer, David Sigmon has been hired by Greenlight Re, a provider of property and casualty re/insurance.
Sigmon will manage the legal, regulatory, governance, and compliance functions for the business in his new position, subject to regulatory and immigration permissions.
Prior to joining Greenlight Re, Sigmon served as Vice President, Associate General Counsel for Everest Re Group, Ltd., where he handled a range of issues with increasing levels of responsibility from 2017 until 2023 as the company’s senior corporate law and complex transaction counsel.
Before that, he worked at AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. as General Counsel, Unique Risk Underwriting, where he oversaw legal matters for a global business unit that specialized in investing in structured insurance and reinsurance solutions from 2013 to 2017.
Just before joining AmTrust, Sigmon worked as an associate attorney for a large international law firm that is now known as Locke Lord LLP’s insurance and reinsurance division. He started his legal career in New York City as an associate attorney at a prestigious boutique maritime law company.
