Two(2) Allianz executive leaders to step down

Allianz announces changes in the management team

Allianz Holdings stated today that Steve Treloar, CEO of Allianz Personal, and Fernley Dyson, Chief Financial Officer, are stepping down to seek new opportunities.

Steve joined LV= as Managing Director in May 2016. He formerly served as Aviva’s Managing Director of Personal Lines and held several other prominent positions at Aviva and RBS Insurance.

He was appointed CEO of LV= General Insurance in December 2017 and successfully guided the joint venture with Allianz to its full acquisition by the company, which included the acquisition of Legal & General’s General Insurance unit in late 2019. Steve was appointed CEO of Allianz Personal in 2021, when all the company’s UK private brands were consolidated into one operating organization.

Steve will stay with the company until June 30, 2023, and the search for a replacement is currently underway.

Fernley Dyson, CFO of the UK subsidiary, has also opted to retire, with his last day being May 30th. Fernley joined theUK subsidiary in January 2019 after serving as CFO at Ageas and in numerous senior positions at Aviva.

Ulf Lange, presently Head of Allianz SE’s Global Lines and Anglo Markets sector, will take over as Chief Financial Officer on May 30. Ulf joined the company in 2008 and has made major contributions to the Group during his tenure. Prior to his most recent positions at Global Lines and Anglo Markets, he was CFO at Allianz Partners.

Colm Holmes, CEO of Allianz Holdings, commented on the move, saying, “At a time of tough headwinds and exciting change, Steve has played a critical role in the success of our company.” I’d want to thank him for his important contribution, which has helped us establish ourselves as one of the leading private insurers in the UK. While no replacement has been chosen, I am delighted that Steve has committed to collaborate with the Allianz Personal leadership team to guarantee a smooth transition.

I’d also like to thank Fernley for his contributions to our organization over the last four years. He was instrumental in the growth of our company, heading finance services during the acquisitions of LV= General Insurance and L&G General Insurance. I wish him the best of luck in the future. I have no doubt that Ulf’s expertise and experience will contribute to the Alliance’s future success. I’d like to greet him warmly and look forward to working with him.
