Lodestone a subsidiary of Beazley’s hires a new CEO

The information security expert Alton Kizziah has been named CEO of the cybersecurity company Lodestone Security, a fully owned subsidiary of Lloyd’s (re)insurer Beazley effective May 1, 2023.

Incident response, digital forensics, offensive security, and threat detection are the areas of expertise of Lodestone.

In his new position, Kizziah will oversee a recently enlarged senior leadership team in advancing the company’s dedication to assisting clients in securing their work environments, identifying risks, and responding to cyber disasters. In particular, Kizziah will concentrate on turning Lodestone into an industry-recognized first-choice for cyber event preparedness and response, as well as building the platform, processes, and capacity to enable Lodestone to promote deeper engagement with existing Beazley clients.

Kizziah is a senior information security professional with 22 years of expertise in delivering effective security solutions to clients on a global scale. He joins Lodestone from MGT Consulting Group, where he was executive vice president and general manager of the consultancy’s Technology Solutions Group.

He held executive positions before joining MGT with a number of prestigious security firms. His career has largely been spent in international positions, alternating between the US and Europe.

Kizziah studied at Kennesaw State University and the University of Alabama in Birmingham. For fifteen years, he has held the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) title.

Kizziah on his hire said, “I’m thrilled to join the Beazley family to help Lodestone take the next step in its evolution. Our first step will be to formalize our approach to deliver excellent outcomes more efficiently, while also preparing the organization for scale and growth.”

“Lodestone is an increasingly significant component of Beazley’s cyber ecosystem, and we are pleased to have attracted someone with Alton’s experience to lead the company into its exciting next phase of development,” said Paul Bantick, the global head of cyber risks at Beazley. Highlights of Alton’s experience include team building and bringing people together, promoting industry innovation, and starting service firms. This will be extremely helpful as Lodestone expands and moves closer to its goal of providing the efficient cyber security support that companies across the US and beyond are becoming more and more dependent on.
