Property and casualty insurer W.R. Berkley Corporation has appointed Jay Weber president of Berkley Southeast Insurance Group. Weber will take over from Dennis Barger, who was promoted to chairman of the W.R. Berkley Corporation.
Weber has more than 30 years of expertise in the commercial property and casualty insurance industry and prior to joining W.R. Berkley Corporation, he worked for Chubb, where he was in charge of North American business development.
Since the company’s inception in 2013, Barger has served as president. He will continue to assist the Berkley Southeast team during the transition in his capacity as chairman.
